Phase 2: How might we create a product to updates users about the main events in the eSports world?
The proposed solution
The proposed solution is an eSports news aggregator app that centralizes coverage across multiple games, tournaments, and platforms. It delivers real-time updates, live scores, and curated news stories tailored to user preferences. By combining instant match results with highlight clips, team insights, and industry developments, the app helps competitive gamers, casual fans, and industry professionals stay informed without information overload.
With customizable notifications and filtering options, it ensures users receive the right content at the right time, enhancing engagement and accessibility in the fast-moving world of esports.
Phase 3: Prototype
The prototype of the esports news aggregator app was developed with a focus on core functionalities: real-time score tracking, personalized news feeds, and intuitive navigation.
A minimal but clean interface was designed to highlight live match results while allowing users to filter news by game, team, or tournament. Interactive elements such as push notifications for match updates and a “highlights” section were implemented to test engagement.
The prototype was built using rapid prototyping tools to validate the concept, gather early user feedback, and refine the user experience before scaling to a fully functional product.
Phase 4: An unexpected issue
Website needed
After some initial testing, we discovered that a mobile app alone was not sufficient—users also requested a website version to access content more easily from desktops and share news across platforms. This insight guided the next phase of development, expanding the product into a cross-platform solution.
